It is with profound sadness that the family of Joseph L. Wroblewski announces his peaceful passing on June 2, 2026, at the age of 96. Surrounded by his children in the comfort of his home, Joe departed this life after a remarkable journey defined by faith, family, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to serving others.

A native of Ashley, Pennsylvania, Joe was the son of Joseph and Irene Wroblewski. From an early age, he embraced the values of integrity, compassion, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life. After graduating from Ashley High School, he attended Wilkes College and later earned a degree from Eckels College of Mortuary Science in 1952.

Joe honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War before returning home to establish a distinguished career as a funeral director. In 1954, he opened his first funeral home in Ashley and later expanded his service to families throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Alongside his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Normajean, he became known for providing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care during life’s most difficult moments.

While successful in business, Joe’s greatest passion was humanitarian service. A member of the Ashley Lions Club since 1954, he devoted more than seven decades to Lions Clubs International. His dedication led him to serve as District Governor, International Director, and ultimately International President from 1985 to 1986. Under his leadership, he championed the theme “We Serve Better Together,” a message that reflected his belief in unity, compassion, and collective action.

Joe’s influence extended around the globe as he inspired service projects, strengthened communities, and built lasting friendships. Yet despite his many accomplishments, he treasured his role as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather above all else.

Joseph L. Wroblewski’s legacy of kindness, leadership, and service will continue to inspire generations. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
